Feedback changes Google Buzz Auto follow at start up
A few couple of days ago Google launches the new social networking Google Buzz, which help users to stay in touch with their buddies. Buzz can give tough competition to twitter as well as facebook. Integration of popular websites like Yahoo's Flickr, Twitter, Picasa, Blogger, Google Reader, and Youtube in Buzz has made Google's entry into microblogging a powerful one. Since Twitter is a free application, all Tweets can be accessed through Buzz. A user does not have to open another browsing window. So, Buzz might give Twitter a run for its money if it becomes popular.
"Gmail started with mail, then added chat, now we have started Buzz on it. We believe Buzz offers some unique ways of solving user needs, with innovative features like inbox integration, fastand-full-screen photo viewing, and location-based posting from mobile devices," says Vinay Goel, products head at Google India.
User response has come as a positive surprise with most Gmail users at least checking out what Buzz was all about. But a little more negative feedback for the auto following feature at start up, the technical team take it into consider is appreciable.
After the controversy over privacy issues, Google took immediate action and made following/followers numbers optionally public. Google announces it's taking things a step further by changing the auto-follow model in which Buzz automatically sets you up to follow the people you email and chat with most, to an auto-suggest model. If we don't want to share the lists of people who are following us and people we are following publicly on our profile, we can opt out at any time from the edit profile page.
Google won't automatically connect Buzz to your Picasa and Google Reader accounts. You will need to do this manually from now on.
The Google Buzz tab in Gmail, where we can find two settings. One to hide/reveal your following lists. The other is to disable Buzz from Gmail.
Any how wait for a couple of weeks Buzz may change the way of chatting, blogging, sharing….
