Netbooks Operating System: Meego now available for download

Some time ago we talked about Meego, how Nokia Moblin and merged so that we may bring this new operating system dedicated not only to netbooks, but also Internet devices and even some phones, like the N900.

Moblin OS was definitely my "alternative" favorite, besides Windows 7 for a netbook. Ubuntu Netbook Remix sounded good, but as Ubuntu, I was not really optimized for netbooks, take even more than Windows 7 at launch. Like Jolicloud, which was only a copy to UNR - but now, with his leap of Firefox to Chrome for webapps, it seems an interesting alternative.
Anyway, Meego. You are now ready to be downloaded the first version of this operating system in three variants:

  • Intel Atom Netbooks
  • Nokia N900 with ARM processor
  • Handsets Atom
The download is an ISO, which can be copied to a USB or CD, and run directly. Of course, this is a trial version (the final version comes out in May), but for anyone interested in trying this OS (no need to install anything, by the way), know that they can download it here: http://meego.com/downloads

After that I took very good impressions with Moblin, I look forward to seeing the results that this partnership with Nokia has brought to this OS.
