Update Windows Mobile 6.1 to 6.5 to Windows Phone 7 Series? Impossible

Thus, even the HTC HD2, the powerful HTC device with Windows Mobile 6.5 (1 GHz processor, capacitive screen, 5 megapixel camera), qualify for an upgrade to Windows Phone 7.
Windows Phone 7Series, the new operating system release Microsoft smartphone that we saw a few days ago and that, at least with previews, stunned many not be available for any device that now has Windows Mobile 6.1 or 6.5. Microsoft has been greatly tightened the requirements for each of the phones that will bring Windows Phone 7 (to improve the user experience), and therefore not having the required 3 buttons (3 buttons, exactly), the HD2 of HTC not qualify for upgrade to Windows Phone 7.
In short? If you were waiting for the HTC HD2, forget the phone, because it is likely that HTC launch a HD2.1 with buttons modified to work with this new operating system. And if they hoped to upgrade their phones with Windows Mobile 6.5 to the new OS from Microsoft, unfortunately will have to buy a new smartphone to take advantage of the OS. However, as a still unproven OS, which could potentially bring conflicts with applications (after all, WinMo 6.1 and 6.5 are designed to be used with stylus, not the finger).
Interestingly, the contrast with Android, as it has promised to bring the new OS (2.1, currently available only in Google Nexus One) to all devices with Android. Yes, even the HTC G1, with more than a year on the market. Of course, features like animated backgrounds and other extras will probably not appear, but for now, it plans to bring the base of the OS on all Android devices available in the market. Or even the Apple iPhone, the first model, launched 3 years, can run the same operating system as the latest models.
Of course, the change in Android 1.6 to 2.1 (or iPhone OS 1.0 to 3.1.3) is not as significant as what will be the jump WinMo 6.5 to WP7 and, even though painful, was a step that Microsoft had to take to return to its mobile operating system competitive again: forget all about the current models, and focus their efforts to build a new interface, with strict requirements for manufacturers.
We look forward therefore to see new smartphones running this operating system from Microsoft.
