Samsung will next month its first e-reader in the Netherlands. The E6 is a slider with a 6 "touchscreen, which can only be operated with a stylus. The Korean company is negotiating with several parties for a content deal.
The touchscreen, with a resolution of 800x600, only responds to the EMR stylus and not vingeraanrakingen. According to Samsung with the stylus can be accurately written and drawn. It has 2GB storage device and connects to the outside world via 802.11b/g-wifi and Bluetooth 2.0.
The E6 supports the view of ebooks in the epub format, txt, bmp, jpg and pdf / a, a stripped down version of PDF. The device has built-in speakers and a mini-jack output so that the user to listen to mp3's or books. This is possible through the text-to-speech feature, but for now only for English text.
Samsung has signed an agreement with Google for content and in the U.S. Barnes & Noble knotted. In the Netherlands the company to multiple parties to conduct interviews to serve as a supplier of ebooks. Bol.com is not its exclusive deal with Sony in the race. But Samsung also carries interviews with several publishers of newspapers in Belgium and is negotiating with the manufacturer's market.
The e-reader is in April on the Dutch market by Samsung and will cost 330 euros. There is also a simpler version without a touchscreen and stylus, but with a QWERTY keyboard. How much will this cost model is not yet known. The E101, a 10 "version of the E6 comes to the Netherlands, but this happens later this year.
