Sygic - First navigation Software for N900
Sygic is the first navigation software maker released for Maemo, the Linux distro that runs on Nokia's N900 smartphone. The navigation package of 1.8 GB card costs almost 60 euros. Nokia does not own navigation for Maemo.
It was already known that Sygic navigation software for Maemo 5 would release, but now the program should be downloaded. The program Mobile Maps has maps for Europe, Russia and the Middle East on board. Nokia Maps on Ovi standard has put the N900, but that is an old version of the map software.
Sygic is the first provider of navigation software on Nokia's Linux Maemo 5 platform. It will probably remain the only: Nokia has announced that Maemo 5 will be merged with Moblin for Intel. This new OS, designed for smart phones, laptops and cartech, Meego is called. The probability seems high that another Linux-smartphone Nokia's software can not run, because the chip is probably an Intel: Intel for the smart phones in its Moorestown processor line. LG has made a first device with this processor, the GW990.
